An AJAX application completely eliminates the wait in between the user and server interaction. AJAX is a group of different technologies that helps interactive web application.

Asynchronous JavaScript and XMLor AJAX helps exchange data between the user and the server without having to reload the entire page. In other words, with AJAX web applications can communicate with the server without interfering with the current page. So the user’s interaction with the application happens asynchronously and does not depend on the communication with the server.

AJAX is a practical tool that is found all over the Web. For instance the popular Google Maps, Gmail, and Orkut etc. depend on AJAX. Because of its versatility and practicality it can be used for simple, single-functions and complex and sophisticated applications too.
